LIST database program can be downloaded
here.
Note: A new LIST ver 1.01 is now available for OS5/Tungsten T users.
The new version only works for Palm OS3 or above. For older versions users,
you may continue to use your current ver 0.99.
The databases format has been revised. You can now select LIST databases
sorted in brand names or the original generic names; or a combinations of
both (to allow most flexible and fastest search). The CSV format also has two
selections to choose from. Please do inform me if you find any errors.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- After installing the new database, why am I still seeing the old one
displayed?
- The new database does NOT replace or delete old ones; so that
you can select which one to use before the effective date. There are
three ways to select the new database:
- Tap the icon at the lower right corner of the screen
- Go to "Menu/Option" and choose "Select Database".
- Graffiti short cut: diagonal upstroke + "S"
The list of databases in the Palm would be displayed and you can choose one to
view. When you have no use of the old databases anymore, select it first, then
go to "Menu/Option" and "Delete Database".
- How do I use LIST database program with the limited use code database?
Why are there different databases available?
- The LIST database was designed to mimic your Palm's address book.
And there are two ways of searching for the drug you look for:
- A. "Quick Search" or "Look Up" search - just like your address
book, you simply start writing the first few characters of the drug in the
Graffiti area. In most cases, the drug you are looking for would appear
on the screen after 2 to 3 characters. This method would only search for
the first word in the left column within the category you have
chosen.
- B. "Local Find" or Keyword search - tap on the "Find" button, and the
local find dialog window would pop up. Write the drug name and tap "OK".
This would search for any keyword in the drug name as well as the
code description in the whole database (not restricted to the category you
have chosen).
E.g. if I write "alz" for Alzheimer's disease in "Find",
all limited use drug for Alzheimer's disease would be retrieved.
- "Quick Search" is faster than "Local Find", though the latter could be
more flexible sometimes. The different LIST databases would affect "Quick
Search" but not "Local Find". With LUCv38brand.pdb, you can only use "Quick Search"
search for brand names; and LUCv38generic.pdb only for generic name. As
mentioned, using "Local Find" search would be the same for both databases.
- With LUCv38combine.pdb, you can select to use "Quick Search" for
brand names (change category to BR) or generic names (change category to
GE) or both brand names and generic names (change category to ALL). This
offers the fastest search no matter whether brand or generic names of the
drug first come into your mind. The downside is that this database uses
up the most memory.
- Is the Cipro code for traveller's diarrhoea correct?
- Yes. Cipro's codes have been changed twice.
-
In Update 2 (Oct 2001), the code for traveller's diarrhoea was changed
from 335 to 350 because of the added indication of "Crohn's disease".
350 GI: Traveller's diarrhea; enteric fever syndromes; Crohn's disease.
In Update 3 (Apr 2002), the following code was added:
353 For the prophylaxis or treatment of B. anthracis exposure.
- Please note that despite the change of code for Cipro, Floxin's code
for traveller's diarrhoea remains unchanged:
335 GI: Traveller's diarrhea; enteric fever syndromes.

OriginalPlus: Enhanced Extended Keyboard & VG for Palm Tungsten T3,
T5 & LifeDrive DIA

Numeric Keys and Keypad enhancement in keyboards and virtual graffiti input
area.
It is installed as a DIA (Dynamic Input Area) skin. However,
unlike most other skins, this design retains the original look and
it is mainly for functional enhancement. It is provided as freeware.
You need to use a skin manager such as
mySkin
(T3, T5 & LifeDrive) or
T3AgendaBG (T3 only) in
order to load and use this keyboard.
Screen capture from Simulator which does not display the BlueTooth icon.
The icon is present when installed in your Palm.

Features:
- Numeric Keys and Keypads enhancements for keyboards and virtual graffiti input area.
- This is not a hack, it is loaded in priority over the original DIA resource file in the ROM.
It should be compatible and work seamlessly with most programs.
- Choice of English (US), German and French Keyboard Layout.
- Most of the supported character sets/symbols now accessible.
- Two Tone Keyboard color
- An area of numeric graffiti input area is maintained next to the keypad to
facilitate foreign characters accent and symbol graffiti input.
- "CTL" command key added in all keyboards and keypads.
- Status bar dark background removed for a cleaner look.
- Consistent key buttons position for German and French layout when switching between normal and
international keyboards.
Installation:
- Unzip the downloaded file into a temporary directory. The files are located under three folders:
English_US, Français and Deutsch for the three different language layout.
- For English(US) version:
- "OrigPlusXXUS.prc" must be used with
mySkin or
T3AgendaBG;
This is easiest and you can select and use different keyboard layout or other DIA skins at any time.
For T3AgendaBG users, you probably need to soft reset after activation the new keyboard, and you need
to do the same after switch back to the original keyboard.
This should not be necessary for mySkin users.
- Advanced T3 users only
(StatusBarResources will NOT work with T5 and LifeDrive - it will crash)
"StatusBarResources.prc" does not require any 3rd party software, after
hotsync to your Palm, you will be prompted automatically for a reset;
however, this one is more difficult to uninstall, as it requires a 3rd
party program to delete the file (FileProg or Filez will work; FileProg
seems to work better as deletion by Filez directly would give you an
error, which can be eliminated by doing a warm reset first). So if
you aren't sure or not familiar with these programs, use the
mySkin or T3AgendaBG version.
- For German and French version, install mySkin or T3AgendaBG
and OrigPlusXXDE.prc for German Keyboard or OrigPlusXXFR.prc
for French Keyboard. T3AgendaBG users may need to soft reset after
activation, and do the same when you switch back to the original one.
This is not necessary for mySkin users.
- I cannot be held liable if it causes error or data loss in your Palm. I have tested it in my T3
and simulator and it works well. But conflicts with some programs is possible; so use at your own risk :-)
- Thanks to DomG and Festus440 for their excellent tools to create this skin.
Thanks to Toem for his excellent T3AgendaBG skin manager and for testing the German keyboard layout.

Unfortunately, Avantgo will be implementing a new policy in severely

would work out.
