Carpenters Jukebox EPs

An EP is a 7-inch (single size) vinyl record known fully as an Extended Play Single. The EP usually contained four tracks, two on each side. Popular in England, Japan and many other countries, they were rarely sold in stores in the US. However, since they were the same size as singles, specialty companies like Little LPs Unlimited produced EPs for jukebox play. These were never available for retail sale, feature A&M labels and were strictly made to promote their associated full length albums.

A&M licensed Little LPs Unlimited to produce four Carpenters jukebox EP records. Each EP was packaged in a picture sleeve with a black and white version of the full length album's artwork.

Superstar Teaching Machine kit

Carpenters A&M Superstar Teaching Machine EP

An interesting packaging for a Carpenters EP. One of the series of educational Superstar Teaching Machine Reading Kit that A & M Records came out with in the mid to late 1970's. The kit contains a Carpenters EP Record, a Fun-To-Do Exercise Book and a Superstar Poster of the Carpenters.

The idea was that the student could listen to the record, then use the booklet to do reading exercises while admiring the Carpenters poster. All of these items are contained in a Superstar Teaching Machine Carrying Case (note the cut-out handle in the picture).

Any idea what songs were on the record?
