I couldn't be more proud and excited to share the following wonders news with you all:

"Mr. & Mrs. Harold Carpenter of Downey, California are very happy to announce the forthcoming marriage of their only daughter KAREN ANNE to THOMAS JAMES BURRIS, eldest son of Mr. & Mrs. James Burris of Orange County California on Sunday, August 31st. 1980 in Beverly Hills, California."

Tom is a very handsome, blue eyed blond business executive whose is charm and down to earth character is a perfect match for Karen's vibrant magnetic personality.

Elaborate arrangements are in progress for what promises to be the Society Wedding Of The Decade!

As emotions run high, and excitement reaches fever pitch, the hearing strings take an extra tug as we learn of Richard's intention to compose very personal message for the bride to sing to her bridegroom during the marriage ceremony. Richard will also play piano selections throughout the service, including We've Only Just Begun and Close To You, What a poignant moment that will be.

The marriage will be performed in an Olde English style garden setting and Karen will be attended by a matron-of-honor and ten bridesmaids. One of the two little flower girls (Ashley) and her twin brother (Andrew) will be ring-bearer, are Karen's 5 year old God-children. The other little flower girl (Brooke) is their 5 year old cousin. Tom's younger brother Richard will be Best Man, and of course the bride will be given away by her father.

Prominent Beverly Hills designer Bill Belew has been assigned the prestigious task of designing the bride's gown, and will be responsible for the attire of the bridal entourage.

I will endeavor to give a full description of the wedding in the next newsletter. but in the meantime, I know you will all endorse our warmest congratulations to our very special couple, and wish then God's blessing for a lifetime of profound happiness, understanding and blissful harmony

IF TIME ALLOWS, Richard and Karen intend to release a new single this summer, will precedes the eagerly awaited Carpenters album set for release later in year. As this letter goes to press, the decision on choice of single has not been finalized, so you can check your record outlets and have a great surprise!
