Message of the Day

The "Message of the Day" (known as the MOTD) is not really a daily message (necessarily), but something that is updated when we feel there is something important that the users should know regarding the system. This may include notices of planned down time, upgrades, explanations of emergency situations, or other system announcements.

There are several ways you can view the MOTD.

If logged in to a shell account you may execute the command: cat /etc/motd

Via the web, the MOTD can be found at http://www.vex.net/news

Or you can subscribe to our MOTD mailing list (link on page above) which will email you any updates to the "Message of the Day".
