Okay, everyone, settle down. I know this error -- it happened to me
a couple of times when I first started using Yarn, and it's not a MIME
error. Now give me a minute to remember what it was....

(A minute passes. Maybe two.)

I remember now: It's a uqwk error. The Yarn "commands" Helge is asking
about belong to uqwk's command language. Make a mistake with one of those
commands (any tiny mistake, like mispelling one, or requesting a newsgroup
your server doesn't carry), and BOOM!, lots of high ASCII gets appended
to messages sent from that reply packet. Sometimes the gibberish even
contains pieces of other messages. Drove me nuts for a week until I
figured it out.

Back to Helge's original question:

Those are uqwk commands, not Yarn commands. Read the uqwk man page on
your UNIX system for details. As I recall, commands *don't* need to be
in uppercase, but it's been a long time since I used them. They're
kinda dangerous. One typographical error and chaos ensues.
