Filtering mailing lists into newsgroups

I just recently started using Yarn/2 (v.90) and Souper (v1.4) to retrieve news
and email. Since I am subscribed to a couple of mailing lists I set up Yarn to
import messages from these lists into seperate "newsgroups" for ease of reading
and posting. For *this* particular list I executed the following command per
the instructions in the doc's:

newgroup yarn.list 3 10 yarn-list@lists.colorado.edu

Then I ran the mail filter to set up the rules to move these messages into the "yarn.list" group. When I receive mail from this list it is filtered nicely into the newsgroup I created. That part works fine.

However, whenever I try to post a message to this list via the newsgroup souper gives the following error message:

souper: Posting article to yarn.list Article not accepted by server; not posted. 441 No valid newsgroups in "yarn.list"

It seems that Yarn is not substituting the e-mail address of this mailing list in place of the name of the pseudo-newsgroup "yarn.list", and souper is trying to post to a non-existent newsgroup.

What am I overlooking here? I thought any posts to such newsgroups would be automatically translated back into e-mail for the mailing list.
