Don't see why not? Though if you are on very limited disk space more of a
consideration than to-stac-or-not-to-stac would be the new news spool
handling vs. old news spool handling. You may see your spool grow somewhat
bigger with the new format; especially depending on how often you expire.
However if you expire often regularly, and aquire aproximately the same
amount of news regularly it probably shouldn't be a problem.
It might be a problem if you import an extra lot of news one day, because
it takes a while (depending on your expirey dates and how often you expire)
for the news dat to shrink back to "stable" size-- you can't *immediately*
reclaim space when expiring like with the .89 format.

Here's an idea... set up Yarn 90 in a new directory as a temporary thing to
test it out if you feel like taking the trouble. Set it up to import one or
two newsgroups just to see how it goes...
