This is a reply to your message from Newsgroup: list.yarn,

It's probably a days work, but it can be done.
First, copy all your newsgroups into folders.
Then use one of Oliver Brusberg's "YARNUTIL 0.4" utilities
(SendFold 0.3) [pretty sure that's the one - Oliver writes great
programs but the docs read like they were written by MicroSoft] to
convert the folder into an import package with AREAS and *.msg
files.
Think they're still available at "ftp.oce.com:/pub/yarn/"
This is what Mr. Oliver Brusberg's suggested bat file looks like:
sendfold <your_edited_ex-news_file>
pkzip -m soup.zip *.msg areas
import soup.zip
This is what the key lines in my bat file actually look like.
"7777" is the name I give to my folders. (I was using 666, but
when the Jehovahs Witnesses started picketing I gave in.)
copy d:\yarn\yarnexe\active
sendfold 7777 /Aactive
pkzip -m d:\yarn\home\soup\spdown.zip AREAS *.MSG
d:\yarn\yarnexe\import -n d:\yarn\home\soup\spdown.zip
So now you tell me why you're switching back to .89? (I never tried
.90 because I didn't like the idea of having everything in one
HUGE data file, although I would have switched if .90 allowed me
to delete individual messages from newsgroups. [Two years of
pleading have got me nowhere.])
Good Luck
