Yes, you need it, if the program looks for it. BUT you need only a
few files (often called emx-runtimes or similar on ftp sites) and not
a complete "massive software tool"

Move the cursor onto it and open it. Yarn will ask to process the
message. Answer yes and see.
You need a short "config" file for metamail as well.
An example:

and you need two environment variables as well. But these are described
in the readme file with metamail.
