This has always been one of the major reasons that I still don't use
Yarn95. During these earlier conversations with Chris I was only using
a 386Dx/40 w/8MB RAM & a Trident 1MB video card - screen updates could
*almost* be followed down the screen with my finger. However, even now,
with a 486Dx4/120 w/20MB RAM & ATI Mach64 2MB video card the screen is
still signifcantly slower than plain YarnX -- enough to bother me.

Me too. This is more on the 'mere nuisance' level, but still there.
(Although I haven't yet tried Yarn95 v. .92 -- but I did check
Yarn95 v. 91.)

I have had another problem that I haven't seen mentioned here, and it
has been present with both video cards that I have used:
On either/both the newsgroup level and/or article level the highlighted
line would be okay when I first entered Yarn95... e.g., my color
settings showed properly. However, if I did a reply or follow-up to
any mail or article and returned from my editor to the newsgroup or
article level my highlighted line would be _flashing_ colors. (Red I
think, It's been a while & my memory is shot.) The only way I could
stop this flashing was to exit/reenter Yarn after every reply or
follow-up. [I remember telling Chris about this - I don't remember the
results of that discussion.]
Has anyone else had this flashing problem? What could be causing it?
Anyway, the above problem, with the slow screens & mouse cursor were
just too much for me.
