Sorry, but why not using the telnet approach, it is really simple and
straight. Here is the exact command line - if that keeps one from
using it - for OS/2 Warp Connect:

telnet -l logfile -p 119 your.news.server

As stated above type 'LIST' after connection established, that's it...
