Vsoup Problem - Can't connect to POP Server

Seem like a lot of problems are cropping up with Vsoup. Mine arises
when I try to get my mail. I get the following message in my log:

vsoup: cannot connect to pop3 server austin.i-link.net

Here are the lines from my .cmd file that are supposed to call for
news and mail (news works OK.) The >> and << indicate a long line.

rem f:\tcpip\SOUPER\vsoup -t4 -M -a -k 6144 nntp://news.i-link.net >>
<< smtp://@austin.i-link.net pop3://LabRat:(PASSWORD)@austin.i-link.net
f:\tcpip\SOUPER\vsoup -t8 -M -a -k 6144 nntp://news.i-link.net >>
<<smtp://austin.i-link.net pop3://austin.i-link.net

As can be seen, I've tried calling pop both with and without
ID/password. Both times pop mail has bombed. Also, it seems I wasn't
able to open more than 4 threads - is this normal, or is this an
anomaly? Souper works fine in retrieving mail. Looking at the
yarnio.cmd file, it looks like vsoup is run without defining the URLs
as the readme shows, nor could I find any reference to UserID or
password. Are these URLs supposed to be defined elsewhere, or on the
command line? Am I reading the readme correctly?
