In my case, Yarn seems to take perverse pleasure in sticking AT THE END
articles from the pseudo-newsgroup whose expire date is set to 999.
(These are articles I *don't* want to expire, but since folders have
lesser capabilities than newsgroups, I don't want them put in a folder.)

I've _never_ seen my news.dat shrink by itself.

(Even when I have run rebuild -s, I seem to forget to run expire when I
should, and news.dat balloons up again to where it was.)
