After my previous problems with VSoup and the older version of the emx
runtime libraries (0.9a) I switched to version 0.9b and my problems
were gone. I also read that the newest version was already available,
0.9c. So I decided to install that version. Unfortunately, this
resulted in some trouble.
I am using OS/2 Warp 4.0 Beta (Merlin) and a screensaver. The
screensaver is also using the emx runtime dll's. But when using emx
version 0.9c, WebExplorer got stuck and doesn't react on the system
anymore. First I thought the explorer version was corrupt, but decided
to check my last changes first. I ended my screensaver being active and
started WebExplorer again. No problems occurred. I ended WebExplorer
and started it again several times. No problems. After shutting down
WebExplorer, starting the screensaver and starting WebExplorer again,
the explorer got stuck again. I realised also that the WarpCenter was
reacting strange several times after I upgraded to emx version 0.9c.
The shutdown often didn't react anymore. I now have changed back to emx
version 0.9b and WebExplorer is running normal again. Obviously,
something is wrong with emx version 0.9c and I am not going to use it
anymore. I thought some of you might want to know my experiences.
