Most likely you don't have the proper file permissions to make uqwk on
your system. If your sysadmin is generous, he/she might do it for you if
you have everything prepared in advance.
You'll have to determine if you need the local version (news spool on
the shell account server) or nnpt version (news spool on a server remote
to your shell account server).
Edit uqwk.h if necessary so the paths to sendmail, inews and the news
spool are correct for your installation. Also be sure to look over the
readme.txt file in the uqwk package for other installation instructions.
Once everything is ready, the sysadmin should be able to make uqwk in
just a few minutes.
You should also get OLMenu, a menu-based frontend for uqwk from:
ftp://ftp.america.net/pub/offline_readers/OLMenu/olmnu117.zip
It's a shell script that installs in your home directory and automates
the operation of uqwk, uploading and downloading the packets, etc.
I wrote that one, so you can call on me for help if you need it :).
