Yes, this is OK, I think, as long as you have the YARN and HOME
variables set properly in autoexec.bat. Here is an excerpt from mine:
SET YARN=D:\YARN
SET HOME=H:\YARN\DEBRAW
>I've double checked my settings in the config and all looks

You might want to check your config file again, and make sure that
certain lines have the correct info and/or are uncommented. Here is an
excerpt from mine:
# SOUP reply packet containing outgoing messages
reply-packet=d:\upload\wwar.zip
(NOTE: the above line tells Yarn where to find the REPLIES packet, I
think, and specifies the name of the file. The directory specified
must already exist.)
# compress program
compress=pkzip -m %f %d\*.*
# uncompress program
uncompress=pkunzip -o %f %d
(NOTE: the above two lines specify the compression program used for
import/export zip files. I use PKZip/PKUnzip, and this program is
located in a directory on my path.)
# keep copy of sent mail in this folder
sent-mail=mailed
# keep copy of posted articles in this folder
sent-news=posted
(NOTE: the above two lines specify the folder names for mailed and
posted messages/articles, respectively. I imagine that you can give
these folders names of your own choosing.)
AFAIK, these are the settings in config that you should check. If
someone else knows of anything that I am missing here, please advise.
But, try working with them, and see what happens.

Sorry, but I cannot help you with the other problems. I am sure that
someone else on the list can assist you, though.
HTH.
Good luck.
