Piping problems

In a previous thread, I mentioned some problems I had with piping. After
some tests, I find it is getting weirder, and I am getting intrigued.

I have to yarn installations:

1. Yarnx (0.92) under DRDOS 6. It is called from a batch file that does
several things before firing up Yarnx

I successfully pipe messages to List and also to 'sort' and 'find'.
With 'more', the screen blanks out temporarily, and then I get the yarn
view again.

'More' does work from the Dos prompt.

2. Yarn95 (0.92) under Win95 (What else). It is called from a shortcut.

All pipe attempts (including 'more') work properly THE FIRST TIME only.
Whenever I try piping a SECOND TIME (from the same message, or another
message) I get a red box error message 'Error writing file
c:\home\yarn\message.snd'. If I exit yarn and start again, piping works
the first time again.

Any thoughts ?

cheers
