I didn't have that before. Now my mailcaps is:
application/octet-stream; g:\\myapps\\pmjpeg.exe %s
image/jpg; g:\\myapps\\pmjpeg.exe %s
image/gif; g:\\myapps\\pmjpeg.exe %s
video/mpg; g:\\myapps\\pmmpeg.exe %s
That works a little better but it's still not 100%. When I decode a
message with a gif in it I get:
===============================
From: <an address>
To: <an address>
Subject: <whatever>
Date: <a date>
SYS1041: The name specified is not recognized as an internal or
external command, operable program or batch file.
Content-Description: image/gif
This message contains 'application/octet-stream' -format data.
Do you want to view it using the 'g:\myapps\pmjpeg.exe' command (y/n)?
<I respond with Y>
executing g:\myapps\pmjpeg.exe
==================================
Then pmjpeg executes and I see the pic, no prob. But what is the
SYS1041 all about?
Also, when get a message with an mpeg attached metamail gives much the
same as above. The
SYS1041 happens, the Content-Description shows video/mpg. Then I get:
This message contains 'application/octet-stream' -format data.
Do you want to view it using the 'g:\myapps\pmjpeg.exe' command (y/n)?
Notice it wants to run pmjpeg instead of pmmpeg. Pmmpeg does several
still image formats but not mpeg motion. Yes, I should have tried a
No response to the prompt. Maybe metamail would "rethink" and ask if
I want to view it with pmmpeg. See my next post.
