I ended up expiring messages one newsgroup at a time, until I got the
ABNORMAL TERMINATION error, that I have mentioned earlier in another
thread. Then I did a rebuild -s, and set the PC date to Dec 29 1997 and
continued expiring. Then before I did the next rebuild, I set hte date back
to Dec 29 1996. I got my news.dat down from 95 MB to about 26 MB. And I
hope to get it further down. :-)
