I responded to Chris off-list, but it appears that a lot of us here
missed the point of his original query. He wasn't having a problem
with the quote character; he was having trouble getting Yarn to
include the original post / letter AS quoted material.
So the answer he was looking for was this:

>The uppercase quotes the original, the lowercase doesn't.
