I haven't a clue about european character sets and mangling them but
my favorite editor FTE just released it's first NT Console mode
version (previously it was only available for OS/2 and Linux)... again
i have no idea if it will work better for you (source code is
available if you do C (-: freeware, and the author is also very nice,
as well as being sort of Europeanish -- so there is hope! <-: ) it's
got a great colour Email mode... put -mMSG on the command line and try
it with Yarn....
