Yes, souper will access other newservers through the internet.
Authentication is usually automatic and is handled by cryptic files
left on your hard drive by your ISP.
However, I was unable to coax Yarn/Souper to connect to my usual
newserver after one of these sessions. I ended up doing a complete
reload of OS/2 and Yarn/Souper before I was able to connect again
normally. I have been told that the reason my configuration had
changed was changes in something called "cookies" that refers to these
cryptic files.
Can someone explain how this method of authentication works? Right
now I have to maintain two separate partitions so that I can connect
to two different ISP's. I am also concerned about security since
authorization is apparently requested and sent over the internet
without my explicit permission or awareness.
