Question #1: Is it possible to use some sort of keywords file in
lieu of listing specific text for Yarn to search in messages? I
read one high-volume news group and wish to read only the posts from
four or five authors in that group. So I wish to place those names
in some sort of a keywords file. I have read the docs thoroughly and
find nothing about this although I thought that I had read somewhere
of such a capability.
Question #2: When using the filter program, will the filter program
accept some wild card entries? A case in point is a high-volume
news group. There are several contributors who post messages with
similar but not precisely matching titles. I wish to delete messages
which have subjects containing two identical words regardless of
what the other words in the subject are. Perhaps this falls in the
category of regular expressions. Frankly, I wish I understood more
about regular expressions. So if someone can direct me to a primer
on the subject, I would appreciate it.
Question #3: Are their significant enhancements since 0.89? I have
subscribed to this news group in the past and noted considerable dis-
satisfaction with the change in file format. Thus, I stayed with
version 0.89.
Question #4: Where can I find the Turnkill program, and does it
come with good documentation?
Question #5: If use of a regular expression is the solution to my
problem regarding deletion of messages with similar subjects, how
does one write a regular expression to delete messages with subject
lines containing the words "radio watch"? (without the quotes of course)
My sincere thanks for any and all responses.
