You probably want to set up a score file. That can be a global file if
you want, or it can be newsgroup-specific -- hit "E" while in a newsgroup
to create a specific one, or hit "E" from the newsgroup selection list
to create a global one.
To create something like what you want, add the following lines:
# The SCORE file for PC Yarn
# Format is: <points> <where> <string>
10 From: person1@some.address.com
10 From: person2@other.address.com
killthreshold 10
This will set the killthreshold for that set of scoring rules to 10, and
then mark all messages as read which are not from the names in the above
"From:" lines (everything has a score of azero unless it's affected by
a specified rule, and the only rules here add 10 to the score).
There might be a more efficient way to do this; this is all I can think
of offhand, since I don't use scoring heavily.

I'm not displeased with the new newsbase (since it takes up a constant
amount of disk space here, it makes my freespace a constant value).
One of the things that was added was a nice "thread tree" display when
reading a newsgroup using line characters and arrows.
