I can think of one reason - multi-OS users could use a Linux version of
Yarn and share the same message base with Yarn on their other platforms.

I use the DOS and OS/2 versions of Yarn here, and will probably also
install the Win95 version as well. Right now, the DOS and OS/2 versions
both share the same newsbase and mail folder, and that lets me read the
same news amd keep the same folders and stuff regardless of which OS I'm
currently using.

Actually, I prefer Yarn top slrn/tin/trn/Leafnode. I've not tried pnn/suck
yet, tho. But the reason for wanting a Yarn port might be as simple as
user preference. :-)
