Nothing in the setup should cause a GPF.

When do you get the GPF?
As soon as you click on the Souper Icon?
After Souper starts and as soon as you click on one of the menu
commands?
Later?
Does Souper pop up any dialog boxes or display anything in it's
window?
If so, what do they say? Please copy down the exact text of any
message box and include any numbers. Copy down the last line or two
that Souper displays in it's window, what it's doing, and the the
newsgroup it's working on.
Does the GPF happen every time?
Do you start up the SpryNet dialer before starting Souper?
Do you connect to your Internet service provider before starting
Souper?
Try starting the dialer program before starting Souper. Do you still
get the GPF?
Try connecting to your provider before starting Souper. Do you still
get the GPF?
Could you use other Internet programs that come with the dialer, such
as their news program or web browser, successfully?
Could you use other Internet programs that did _not_ come with the
SpryNet package, such as Netscape, successfully?

Please let me know what steps you go through before you get the GPF.
Also, let me know if one of these suggestions fixed the problem.

Some dialer programs will automatically start up and dial out as soon
as any program tries connecting to the net. Other dialer programs
need to be started up and connected before any other Internet program
such as Souper is started or used.

Talk with you later,

bob
