What's this mean?

When running 'expire -o' I get quite a lot of messages like the following:

"Article at offset X has size Y. Skipped Z bytes."

where X is on the order of 20 000 000,
Y is on the order of 1 000 000 000, and
Z is on the order of 1000.

Thinking something was wrong with my news database, I ran 'rebuild' with
first the '-o' option and then the '-s' option. I got the same messages.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance..
