{ snip excellent discussion }

Those files are a result of YARN becoming confused about deleting articles,
The problem visits me once or twice a week. ( I'm still happy on .79 :)

I've never had a problem since I began:
a) reading all news upon import, save what I want to folders
(exiting news partially read seems to make it happen)
b) run "expire -r" (expire all read articles
c) delete any remaining import files (the 9-ers and 10-ers)

Usual disclaimers: works for me; your mileage may vary. Good luck :)

If you're human, you can probably figure out my eddress.
If not, then keep those cards and letters 8-]
