I had the same problem under OS/2 until someone pointed me to munpack.
It works quite well on MIME-encoded files (even takes out the weird
characters you see on some text files.) I got it locally, but it
should be on Hobbes and the usual suspects. Filename I'm using is
mpack150.zip, although it may have been updated since '95.
