Navigation keys

Reading the help-screen, it isn't clear to me if there are hotkeys to
navigate between articles in a whole thread.
Suppose I hit 'SPACE' on a newsgroup. Then, only the un-read articles
will be shown.
As an example, if the first message I read a followup, how can I read
the previous message in that thread, if that (previous) message is
marked as already read?
The hotkeys for news reading seem to be quite limited, as far as I can
see.
