Your terminology is confusing. List wasn't created? What list? Do you
mean the newsgroup? But you create it manually with newgroup and you
may have to subscribe to it manually, I think. It seems only real
newsgroups are subscribed automatically.

I find this very odd. I have had this happen when I didn't run
newgroup for the newsgroup I wanted the mail filtered to, which is the
correct thing to do of course.

I don't really know what to suggest except maybe try installing Yarn anew,
in a different directory.
