YUP! And not only resetting. You need a separate .newsrc file
for each NNTPSERVER, because:

Not exactly. The only things that vary in messages taken from
different servers are: "Xref:", "Path:" and "Message-Id:" fields. The=20
first is of no use when importing - it's not unique. The second is not
used when importing (didn't find an "Xref:" string anywhere in import
program). So... what can the import program use? Only the "Message-Id:"
field, I believe. This is unique for each message.
In the soup packet, there is no extra data "import" could use
to check if it already has the message - the format is _very_ simple:
#! rnews <length_of_message_in_bytes>
[Message]
#! rnews ... etc., etc.
Conclusions? I'm pretty sure the problem is still on the
server side. Do you use a separate .newsrc file for each NNTPSERVER
setting? If so, are you sure, that you don't import the same messages
twice? I mean - when You use one NNTPSERVER with its .newsrc, do you
also catchup the other .newsrc's? (Well, there's another trick here -
sometimes news arrive to one server earlier than to the other, so if
you pull news from one server and catchup all the rest, you can loose
some articles if you pull from another server next time) Well, I need
much more info to be able to say anything more... so... could you send
me scripts you use? And one more thing: why do you have to use
multiple servers? (going down frequently? lost connections? slow
connections? some other reasons?)
