The SOUP message format is documented in the file SOUP12.DOC which should
have come with your Yarn ZIP file. Otherwise, search for "soup12.doc"
in any search engine.

Yarn's mail folder format is the same as the 'clean binary' format
defined in the SOUP specification, but with the lower and upper word
reversed.

I don't know if the news database format is documented anywhere..
