Talk about timing. About the time you were composing your post to the
list, I was cleaning off my hard disk when I came across your program.
About the time you connected and sent your email to the list, I added
a reference to your package to my SOUP packages page
<http://www.mcs.net/~bobr/soup.html>.
I did see a few keywords in the documentation and that sparked my
interest. Unfortunately, my Polish <-> English dictionary was missing
a few of the words you used. I did recognize it was some kind of
charset converter.
It looks like your program does a bit more than what I was planning to
do. I think it would be a worthwhile addition to the community. One
addition I could think of is conversion between ISO-8859-1 and
ISO-8859-2 and possibly some of the other ISO-8859 tables.
In DDigest, I was just planning on decoding the header lines and
possibly handle the quoted printable message bodies. I wasn't
planning on converting charsets.
Getting back to my SOUP packages page, it's a collection of all the
programs I've found that are associated with SOUP packets. I added a
description of your program to it, but I feel it's rather poor. Could
you please provide a short description (less than 100 words) of
"souplk" for my web page? Also, I already have the ftp location, do
you have a web page to link to?
