where does %d verriable in config file come from?

I use yarn from both Windows NT and OS/2 sharing the database between
the two versions. This necessitates using different locations for
the program files themselves. However when I run the script which
collects the soup packets and does the import into the database, I
keep getting the error message:

import: error running %d\filter1 %f

Since my executables can't be in the same place as the yarn database,
I need to know where the %d variable comes from and if there's a way
to manipulate it.

Am I correct in assuming that the YARN variable must point to the
database files and not the program files?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
