The format for Yarn's mail folders is the same as SOUP's "binary" format,
but with the low-order and high-order words reversed. That is, if the
length field in the SOUP message would be "L1 L2 L3 L4", the Yarn folder
will contain "L3 L4 L1 L2".

Some time ago, the same question was asked by someone else, and I believe
my answer and some documentation on the spool format was posted and then
made available on the Yarn website (www.vex.net/~something???).
