I have used Yarn for at least 4, probably 5, years. I used to use
Souper, but now use VSoup on OS/2. I've used it for about 6 months or
so. I've never seen anything like that, unless I'm misunderstanding.
What I have seen is that sometimes a part of the message is displayed,
but it doesn't completely draw the text in the window for a very long
time. This only occurs when a background process is eating up
resources, such as GNU grep searching a directory containing over 1,000
files. That's just the other program being a pig at the moment, but it
recovers fine after a while (although it could happen again if the other
program is still running). Anything that would bottleneck disk access
or video would do something like that.
If that isn't the problem, then it could be video drivers or even video
hardware.
