No Message-ID

Of late I get regularly the following message:

Article at offset xxxxxxxxx has no Message-ID. xxx articles deleted.

In itself not such a problem, perhaps, but it makes havoc of my news.dat
file; only solution: delete the .dat file, run mkhst.exe, and start the
next day anew.

I seem to recall that some time ago someone had a similar problem, and a
solution for the problem was given by somebody else. Alas, I do no longer
have these messages. Anybody who knows a solution?
