This sounds as if your news spool has become corrupted. Yarn is trying to
read it, but somehow it then tries to access the wrong memory location
and causes a trap. The OS/2 version would most likely then get a SYS3175,
but DOS is a bit less subtle about this kind of thing.

You could try rebuilding the news base, or deleting it if that doesn't
work.
