So where is the problem? Is it, (1) that Lines: ist not always part
of the header, or (2) that the yarn-list received both articles
(i.e. also the message addressed to _you_)?
(1) I'am quoting soup12.html:
>>The "Lines:" line from the message. Note that this field is pretty
useless these days on USENET, but is still popular.<<
Also it seems, that Lines: is standard for USENET, not EMail.
Anyway Yarn does add Lines: for both News and EMail, which can be
considered as non-standard.(?) But nevertheless no reason to
panic...
(2) why don't you compare the two headers yourself!? I (almost)
guarantee, that any strangeness will vanish. Ah yes, then think
again for one moment about Yarns import-filter mechanism...
I admit, that there is almost one way to configure import to
route the messages correctly...
BTW: why don't you route messages from the yarn-lis into a
pseudo newsgroup? Will give you e.g. threading...
One request to Bob, who wrote the article causing the 'trouble': why
to you send CCs of yarn-list articles to members of the yarn-list?
It's (should be) almost clear, that both articles are transmitted via
SMTP (with a different path of course), which means that both messages
with the identical content (not header) will reach the destination.
I.e. two identical messages to one person. What a waste of valueable
bandwidth!
