Rachel,

I have had problems with a corrupt Yarn newsbase causing severe crashes
on occasion.

Since Yarn is a full-screen application, it is possible to run expire
from a "command-line" boot (type Alt-F1 during the boot process when the
white rectangle appears in the upper-left hand corner of the screen,
then select F2 for Warp 4 or C for Warp 3). I have never had any
problems doing this. Of course, it would be inconvenient to run import
this way. Persistent problems may indicate other things such as:

- A badly corrupted Yarn newsbase.
- A problem with your disk controller which only shows up on "large
enough" files.
- A problem with the OS/2 configuration (my personal experience is
that this sort of problem is immediate and severe and that I could
not run at all).
