Because it works. Because I can use my favorite old DOS-based editor to
compose my messages, and don't have to use a Windoze-based word
processor. Because I can run it in a DOS box, or in W95 Console mode,
and it gives me a decent-sized window to play with.
Lots of reasons... I can't think of more right now...it's probably
because I grew up DOS, and though I use W95 these days, I still like
DOS-type applications for some things...especially as DOS apps tend to
not be bloatware. I want to read my mail/news...not have to get past
flashy graphics and whatnot to get to the content.
E-mail and newsgroup posts are, at heart, text. Why fix what ain't
broke by putting all those bells and whistles on plain text? I don't
_need_ italics or bold or multiple-colored text... With Yarn, I can
choose not to deal with it. If I want to look at a web page, I'll fire
up Netscape or IE and go look at a web page. But I don't want one
delivered to my e-mail box, and I don't want to view one when I'm trying
to read an e-mail or newsgroup post.
