I've just violated one of the basic principles of troubleshooting
and paid the price! Instead of first backing up the inbox file, I started
to save the old msgs to folders. When these were purged from the file, the
file size was reduced to zero. Not only were the old msgs purged but all
the new ones (the ones which never appeared on the list but were in the file).
I hope that a significant amount of junk mail was lost along with the
important stuff!!!
