In my case, the reason for the file corruption is not lack of disk
space. I have over 800 Mb left.

If this happens to me once again, I'll check to see if the case
on my system as well. Too bad I never checked that last old msg before ...
wait a minute, I saved that last old msg in a folder before deleting it
from the inbox!!! I'll have to check this out right now before going on
any further!!!!

Nope, too good to be true!!! What I recall as the last message
listed was marked as read and not as "old". There was nothing at the end
of that msg except a signature. I don't recall the subject heading of
the last msg marked as "old"... assuming that there was one of those on the
list. If the new msgs were being appended to the end of one of those that
was already on the list, then I might as well forget it anyway. I'm sure
I didn't save them all to folders and I don't want to check them all.
Thanks for the ideas. I'll have to wait for another catastrophy
before testing it out on this end.
