The AREAS file describes the contents of each message file in the
archive. This particular line says that the archive contains a file
called "0000000.MSG", which contains E-mail messages, and those are
stored in binary (8-bit) format. A SOUP compliant reader can now
read the file, because it knows the format (as defined in the SOUP.DOC
specification), and then import it into its own mailbox(es).

If the second field is not "Email", then it gives the name of a
newsgroup. The reader can now import the articles into its Usenet
database or spool.

The formats for SOUP message files are defined in the file SOUP.DOC
which should have come with Yarn. It is also available as a standalone
document from many locations.
