Your HOME variable should be set to an appropriate directory for keeping user
specific files. %HOME% should have a mail directory under it. In this
directory check to see if there is an INBOX file. If there is and it is
not 0 bytes long, it could be corrupted, which can cause incoming email to
appear to be lost. If this is the case, rename it to be INBOX.old. Import
will create a new INBOX that should be ok.
When you run import, you are seeing messages that say mail "filter to folder
INBOX", aren't you?
