No, but it does create 0000.msg and areas files in the directory from
which I run sendfold. These files are both empty.

Yep, but just to be on the safe side, I created a tmp directory off the
root and updated the temp and tmp environment settings, got the same
error, the only difference being that it couldn't write to the
c:\tmp\whatever.tmp instead of the c:\windows\temp... This confirmed
that the temp environment vars were correctly set, but didn't solve the
problem.
