I am configuring the yarn email/news program, as I prefer the dos look
- I have trouble seeing and find it difficult to read in windows, the
dos screen is much clearer.
I configured the yarn reader to use yes and it all works fine.
However, I am having a problem with getting the packets up to the news
server. I downloaded the uka_ppp package to do this, and got it
installed fine, the only problem being that I cannot find the irq of
my modem (internal) in com2. I downloaded the version using the
windows dialer, but the majority of the instructions are in German, (I
couldn't see another version on the sight), and so looked around
elsewhere for another soup transporter. I downloaded wssoup, and it
works fine for email, (well a test message got to me OK), but I keep
getting gpf's when entering the subsoup program, (so no news!). I was
told to check out souper, and have now got souper, and think that the
best way is to use a batch file to incorporate the program options and
then use the export program. However, before this, is there anyone
out there using uka ppp under windows shell with the windows dialer
who can give me more info???
Tia.
Sincerely,
Andrew.
