I think it is a Division By Zero error. When I upgraded my
machine to a faster one ShareSpell and several other old DOS
programs stopped working.

I'm speculating that the program is trying to calculate a
delay loop and when the speed of the machine exceeds some
threshold the math blows-up with /0.

I switched to the GNU/DJPPG version of ISPELL, which is not
as good as ShareSpell was.
