Smoething's just crossed my mind - doesn't it complain about "inn.conf"
instead of "inews.conn"? If so, the try the following:
- install inn (it requires also cleanfeed and perl-MD5, all these packege=
s
can be found on a Mandrake CD),
- set the 'server' line in /etc/news/inn.conf to your NNTP server.

Think this should do.
